The Edinburgh Chinese Community School (ECCS) was founded in Summer 2000. 

The mission of ECCS is to promote the Chinese language, culture and the advancement of community education.

About our Head Teacher

Hello,

My name is Hui Hiang Ng-McCulloch (Huang Huixian). I am the new head teacher of the Edinburgh Community Chinese School. Originally from Singapore, I came to Edinburgh in 1986 and graduated from Heriot-Watt University with a Masters in Business Administration. In 2006 I decided that it was time to seek my roots and two years later, in Dec 2008, I graduated from Edinburgh University with a Masters in Chinese Studies (distinction). I am also an English tutor for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

My association with the Edinburgh Community Chinese School started in 2002 when I enrolled my two children in ECCS's Mandarin classes and then enrolled myself in the adult conversation class. I found the learning process so rewarding that I decided to take Guzheng and Kung-Fu lessons as well. When the children left ECCS, I stayed on as a committee member in the Board of Governors. In 2007, the school asked if I would help to co-ordinate their Spring Festival Fair to raise funds and since it was so well supported and well received I went on to co-ordinate the 2008 and 2009 Chinese New Year Celebration Fair. I was Vice-Chairman of the Board when Queenie Tam decided to stand down, and I am honoured to be asked to assume this post for the academic year 2009/2010.

I look forward to working with everyone who has contributed to the success of the school to date and I am happy to receive any suggestions on how we can improve on our provision of quality education of Chinese language and culture.

本人黃慧賢，是愛丁堡愛橋中文學校的新任校長。生於新加坡，我在１９８６年來到英國。畢業於愛丁堡華特大學的工商管理碩士課程．在２００６年，我決定追尋我的文化根源，在兩年後，於愛丁堡大學的中文碩士班以一級榮譽的身份畢業。而我也是以英語為外語的語言導師。

我與愛橋中文學校的關係始於２００２，當時我把我的兩個孩子送進了中文學校的普通話班，而我亦加入了成人會話班。在學習過程中，我獲得了莫大的滿足感，所以決定也參加學校的古箏班與功夫班。孩子從學校畢業後，我為擔任學校校董的職務而留下來。在２００７年，在學校的邀請下，我籌辦了學校的春節慶祝會，而因慶祝會的成功，我繼續在２００８與２００９年籌辦學校的新年嘉年華 會。當前任校長美貞決定退任時，我是學校校董會的副會長。我很榮幸被邀請成為中文學校的新任校長。

在新的學年，我期待能與為學校貢獻良多的諸位合作，而我亦會很樂於在學校各方面的發展上，聆聽各位的意見。希望在各位的參與下，愛橋中文學校在中國語言與文化的教育能精益求精。此致 愛丁堡社區各單位
